  1. Treason doth never prosper:
    What’s the reason?
    For if it prosper,
    None dare call it treason.
    Sir John Harington (1561-1612),

I’m at one with the world re. NM, don’t get me wrong, but is there no one who has a bad word to say about him? Or have the nay-sayers battened down the hatches in their funk-holes and taken a temporary vow of silence. The Internet is proof that there are people out there who’ll say anything – and I mean anything – to draw attention to themselves. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain worldwide notoriety. Having said that, I can’t think of anything more soul-destroying than trawling for such stuff. Perhaps in this case the silence of these maniacs is truly golden.

  2. Luckily there was no drone strike option when Reagan, Thatcher and congressman Dick Cheney were struggling to prop up SA business interests. Of course the CIA was instrumental in NM’s arrest and imprisonment for 27 years, and NM was humble and conscientious enough to reveal his conscience, point to his own flaws, and for that matter plead guilty to his “crimes”. Of course there are people who despise him, he cost them money and prestige. I’m sure a quick Google search would turn up hundreds. Thatcher’s quote on the ANC may be the most priceless:
….”The ANC is a typical terrorist organisation … Anyone who thinks it is going to run the government in South Africa is living in cloud-cuckoo land”.
